CAN AMERICANS TRAVEL TO EUROPE? | FLIGHTLAYAWAY
Are you fully vaccinated and ready and willing to take your first vacation in more than a year? If so, you may be wondering if Americans can travel to Europe. You may have another question: What European countries can you visit right now?
In
order to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and protect the overall
health and well-being of all European citizens, some travel restrictions and
limitations have been necessary. You will be happy to know that the European
Commission is trying its best to allow people to meet family and friends,
travel for work, as well as ensure free movement of goods, citizens, and
services – with full regard to health and safety measures.
There
is no doubt that tourism has been considerably impacted by this pandemic.
However, with vaccine rates on the rise, many countries are now slowly starting
to reopen tourism.
Can Americans Travel to Europe?
Belgium
From
‘moules frites’ to hand-crafted chocolates, you can discover Belgium’s
gastronomic delights once again. Keep in mind that this gorgeous land-locked
enclave has recently reopened to American leisure travelers. As a result, you
may visit Belgium as long as you’ve taken a negative PCR test 72 hours before
your flight.
Croatia
It
is worth noting that Croatia has also reopened its door for the second time.
The country is once again allowing US passengers to visit as tourists.
Croatia
is famous for its sparkling and clean blue waters as well as dramatic filming
locations from TV shows like Game of Thrones and is accepting American tourists
once again, which is excellent. You will have to provide proof of paying for
your accommodation in advance.
Cyprus
Did
you know that on June 1, 2021, Cyprus finally reopened for US tourists? If you
are a passenger from the United States, you will have to complete an online
form. You will also need to bring a 72-hour PCR test to enter the country.
This
attractive island is one of the best tourism destinations for many countries,
with British citizens leading the list.
Greece
You
can also visit Greece as an American tourist. However, you are permitted to
enter Greece without providing your coronavirus test results provided you present
a valid vaccination certificate.
The
certificate should indicate you got vaccinated against the coronavirus at least
fourteen days before visiting Greece. So, all travelers have to be vaccinated
or show COVID-19 immunity/antibodies after recovering from the virus.
Denmark
If
you are an American and fully vaccinated, you can now visit this lively,
gorgeous, stylish, and fun Scandinavian country. Note that starting June 5,
2021, Denmark allowed American travelers to enter without any coronavirus tests
or quarantines, provided they are fully vaccinated.
Keep
in mind that the vaccine should have been approved and you were vaccinated 14
days (at least) before your planned arrival in the country.
Final Thoughts
As
we gradually move into the summer and fall months, more European countries,
such as France, are starting to reopen restaurants and cafes, parks,
attractions, pubs, and bars and welcoming foreign tourists, including Americans,
for the first time in more than a year.
